Meet Dr. Hackbarth
Mallory Hackbarth grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and Philadelphia. In seeking some warmer weather, she attended Wake Forest University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors and minored in chemistry. She continued at Wake Forest University earning a Master of Science in Management.
While in school she worked as a dental assistant and fell in love with dentistry and decided to pursue it as her career. For her dental training she moved to Boston and attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After dental school she provided dental care to the Navajo at an Indian Healthcare Clinic in Winslow, Arizona (just like the Eagles’ song) while earning her Advanced Education in General Dentistry from NYU Lutheran.
After four years practicing as a general dentist in Nashville, Tennessee and near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she followed her passion for endodontics and committed to the University of Minnesota earning a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Endodontics and a Master of Science. Dr. Hackbarth has presented research on a separated instrument removal device as well as endodontic irrigation at the American Association of Endodontics meeting in 2021 and 2022. Her research has been published in the Journal of Endodontics.
After her residency she moved to Charlotte and has been practicing as an associate endodontist. She is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, is currently an American Board of Endodontists Candidate, and is on track to complete her case portfolio in 2024.
In her free time, Dr. Hackbarth enjoys spending time with her fiancé Kevin and trying to convince him to have more pets (they share one cat for now). On weekends you will find her exploring new restaurants and putting the miles in on the greenways. She loves traveling and hopes to find more time for that as well as volunteering for the Humane Society.
